CDM Regulations

The CDM Regulations apply to most common building, civil engineering and engineering construction work, revised CDM regulations became law on 6th April 2007, from this date all construction projects must comply with the revised regulations. The purpose of CDM is to ensure that health and safety is co-ordinated and managed throughout all stages of a project in order to help mimimise accidents, ill health and cost, both the supplier and the client have a duty to comply with the regulations. Teepee Materials Handling Limited are fully conversant and experienced to working under the revised regulations, key points worthy of noting are:

• a project must be notified to the HSE if 1) there are more than 30 working days on site or 2) there are more than 500 man days in total
• the client must appoint a competent contractor – known as principle contractor if the project is notifiable to the HSE
• the client must appoint a competent project co-ordinator
• the client must allow sufficient time for each stage of the project
